THE CONCEPT

Who, Why, where . . .

It is my goal by arranging songs to serve the singer best. Even if that means that I do not add a track. But usually I create a hook line or a groove concept which will be an ideal playback for the artist. I'm aware that the artist can always substitute me but I can never substitute the artist. So I try to give my best every time I have the pleasure to work for someone. Music is so special to me and I enjoy doing music. I call it a privilege to write, arrange and play music. My main instruments are piano, B3, all kind of synthesizers and my Protools System. I also have some outboard equipment but I'm not a friend of listing all the gear. I do not believe in equipment because I heard hits that are done without any Woodoo. I think the singer is the main capital of a song and if the singer reaches his audience than he has done a 100% job. I can help him if I create a proper arrangement and if I'm able to do a perfect job than I was able to create a good flower-bed for him to sing on it. If things like that happen I'm more than satisfied.

Usually I prepare the tracks at home in my own project studio. I'm also used to work in studios around the globe. I really enjoy working in LA and I have a lot of friends there which I had to privilege to record in various studios. In Germany I have a studio which I can recommend it is the TonUp Studio by Ulrich Pfannmueller. He is the best recording engineer that I know for acoustic drums and percussion. He is also outstanding good for producing and mixing but I think he is special when it comes to acoustic recordings. This is mane also because most of the time I do the drum recordings with Martin "Stoecki" Stoeck. We have done so many recordings together that we all know each other so well and can interact together pretty perfectly. You can get some ideas if you browse thru this homepage. Right now I'm about to finish a production for Dr. Gerd Rippin. Very special music which was a challenge for me to keep his compositions and put them into a more contemporary style.

About us

I'm proud to work with this people in various projects together. I is a true blessing to stay in close contact with these guys and it is always uplifting to work with them. Everybody in our team has his own gifts and together we enjoy it so much to play music. We give always our best in creativity and never are satisfied with a compromise. Uli is a perfect producer, sound engineer and Protools expert. Martin is Mr. Groove he has worked with all major artist and he has a phenomenal drum sound. His input during arranging is always helping and his ears are sharper than a mixed blessing.

    Producer/Recording Engineer

    Uli Pfannmüller has produced a number of well known artist over the years and is one of the finest recording engineers in Germany. His customer list is endless and there is no need to try to list them all. (Laith Al Deen, SheSays, Danny June Smith, etc.)

  • Martin "Stoecki" Stoeck

    Drummer/Arranger

    Since 1995, he is playing for the band "PUR". He plays drums like clockwork and had the opportunity to work for many artists such as:
    Peter Hofmann, Claudia Jung, Michelle, Anna-Maria Kaufmann, Brunner & Brunner

    He has been sitting on his drums in more than 500 CD productions worldwide. Martin graduated from drum and piano studies. For many years he was the drummer of "Dieter Falk band". He played with "Shell and the Ocean" as an opener for the "Bee Gees". From 2003-2005, he was playing drums at the Cologne cult band "Paveier". As the greatest experience of his life, Martin called the collaboration with Jeff Porcaro (Toto) and his father Joe in Los Angeles.

  • Dietmar Zappel

    Composer/Arranger/Keyboarder

    I started to play piano at the age of 6 and didn't try to stop it till today. I played in various bands, choirs and worked with a bunch of international artists. Beside my B3 and my grand piano I'm a huge fan of the Clavia people and I own several instruments from them. I had the pleasure to work with some of the best musicians on this planet in Europe and also in the US. I will not mention any names here but you can see some of them working with me on several videos I have uploaded for you. Have fun, ...

As a production team we have successfully worked with several international artists. We can list all the rewards and artist but the best is if you take the time a look at the pictures or the videos.

Composing

You can get an overview of our abilities if you watch the videos. All songs are composed by Dietmar Zappel. His songs are sung by Louis Price (Temptations), Lou Pardini (Chicago), Judith Hill (Michael Jackson), Bill Cantos (Phil Collins)...

Arranging

It doesn't matter in which condition you bring us your songs. We will work together with you on your songs and will bring them in a form that the singer is supported best.

Playing

With our long standing relationship with LA and Germany we have access to the best and finest studio musicians for every purpose. In Germany we have worked with Peter Weihe, Dirk Schlag, Harry Baierl, Chris Weller, Johannes Killinger... In the US we have worked with Abe Laboriel, Nathan East, Lee Sklar, Peewee Hill, Michael Landau, Dean Parks, Tony Maiden, Greg Mathieson, Justo Almario...
